Dispelling "BUT"
Making decisions can be difficult. We know, any road that we take, there will always be consequences. That moment when an idea came to your head, it’s wonderful! In your mind, you have all the answers to make the goals. You talk with yourself and say: “I can do it!” “I am going to make it!”. FIVE minutes later, comes the “But”, the blessed “But!” And then fears!: “But, I don’t have enough money” “But I don’t have experience” “But, I have to start alone” “But” “But” “But”...
I was born and grew up in a place full of fears; where it’s better to stay suffering, than taking risks to see what’s on the other side. Where I am from, we have an old idiom: “It’s better bad known, than good to know”. I’m not a fan of this idiom, because, it means, it’s better to be safe without any chance to change. It’s sad, especially when people who make a very difficult decision, for their dreams, they want to change “history”, they want to walk on a different road. Then most people call them selfish, crazy and immature. Then you become more afraid of the likely result. In an ideal world, life would be wonderful, all the stories have happy endings. But the reality is, we have both good and bad results. However it is, both ways give us the experience and lessons. So when is the right time to take actions?
How to begin...I think “jump” is the most difficult. Finding the courage to start and face our fears. It doesn’t mean everything will go smoothly, but I’ve learned; every beginning offers opportunities to challenge ourselves, to grow and will teach us many lessons more than we imagined. Whatever it is that you want to pursue, don’t hold back. Trust yourself. You’ll never know what awaits unless you give it a “JUMP”.
